Fighting for ALS

Within 30 days, awareness for ALS has quickly and widely spread across social media usage. With the participation of the ice bucket challenge, one must urge others to accept the task in 24 hours and donate for the cause of research and care services to patients and their families. Those who were affected by the disease remained committed to informing those of what is often referred to as "Lou Gehrig's Disease" and encouraging donations worldwide. Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a disease of the nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord that control voluntary muscle movement. Adding on to the burdens that come with losing control of voluntary muscle movement, individuals with the disease eventually lose their ability to eat, speak, walk, and breathe at some point in time. Unfortunately, ALS is 100% fatal. At the start of mid-July continuing into the near end of August, the association has raised an astonishing $100 million from more than three million people who has donated.
According to President and CEO of The ALS Association, Barbara Newhouse, "the visibility that this disease is getting as a result of the challenge is truly invaluable. People who have never before heard of ALS are now engaged in the fight to find treatments and a cure for ALS." Between celebrities, organizations, to the general public; everyone is willing to participate in what has become the trending topic of Summer 2014.

She's going places ..

Once accomplishing an achievement , there is a sense of relief, weight lifted off of your shoulders; then you continue on to set higher expectations and goals for what is to come.
As an infant , you grow by learning how to walk and take in the world with those who surround you. Developing communication with others as a child then finding yourself in your adolescent years , you start to mature; initiating responsibilities such as working, receiving your drivers license, and completing high school.
Now that this stage is coming to a halt, it is not unusual to realize and understand that life will take a complete 360 depending on how you decide what to make of it.
Your decisions will affect the path that lies ahead . There may be complications, difficulties, and obstacles; however positive effects will be the outcome. YOU are the author of your own novel. Aside from the struggle, one might think how it is possible to live life in the future or undertake what God has in store. He would not put any more on your plate than what you can handle. Do not worry or stress. Life is a succession of moments, to live each one is to succeed.
I will find a light at the end of any dark tunnel. I will outweigh the positives over the negatives. I will graduate college with a bachelors degree and continue on the journey that I have chosen for myself with a career that will not only help provide for my family, but inspire others to steer into a clear direction. These are my hopes for the future and my motivation.
✨✨Stay blessed, Chelsea
